Born Jan.7, 1924, to Rev. and Mrs. (Jenny Tolerud) Nels Wangen. Married Florraine Hoffman June 11, 1950, St. James, Minn. Died Nov. 24, 1958, Oslo, Norway. One brother, Philip (1928-1942). He was granted a Fulbright Scholarship to study at the University of Oslo, in June 1958. His course of study was in the field of secondary education and school administration. He was granted a leave of absence from his position as Supt. of schools, Franklin, Minn.. At the time of his death, caused by a heart attack which struck him at their apartment in Oslo, he was active in the newly formed American Lutheran Church in Oslo. He taught Sunday school, was an usher, and participated in other organizations as they were formed in the new congregation. Dr. Oscar Hanson, first pastor of the American Lutheran Church in Oslo, gave much spiritual guidance to Mrs. Wangen and daughter Jody during their bereavement. Burial at Mount Hope Cemetery, on her folks' family lot, St. James, Minn.
