Born Mar. 15, 1860, Eidsvold, Norway to Paul Emil (1818-1906) and Anne Margretha (18301887) Rynning. Immigrated May, 1888. Married Rev. Niels S. Thorlaksson, May 18, 1888, Mpls. Resided in Minneotta, Minn. and Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada where Rev. Thorlaksson served Icelandic Luth. Congregations, serving for some time as Pres. of the Icelandic Synod of America.
Their service led the Honorable Gunnar Bjornson, Editor of the Minneota, Minn. newspaper, and later State Treasurer of Minn. to state in a memorial book on the pioneer Thorlakssons: "The writer of -this yields to no man when it comes to admiration for Rev. N.S. Thorlaksson, but it would be unfair, unjust and ungallant not to accord Mrs. Thorlaksson an equal share in the credit for all the good work which was done by this worthy couple during the seven years that they tarried on this Minnesota frontier." Died Nov. 6, 1947, Seattle, Wash. Interment Selkirk, Manitoba, Cand.

Children: Margaret (m. Sigmar); Rev. S.O., first Icelandic Luth. Missionary, 25 yrs. in Japan;;Dr. P.H.T., surgeon; Dr. H.F., medical doctor; L. Halfdon, regional comptroller of Hudson's Bay Co.; Erika (m. Attorney Harold M. Eastvold).
