Born June 26, 1866, Hegland Sogn, Ovrebø Prestegjeld, Kristiansand, Norway, to Anders Tvede and Tone (Sandland) Thorkildson. Immigrated in 1885 with parents and two sisters and three brothers to Warren, Minn. He farmed in the Red River Valley, near Stephen, Minn.
He was a pioneer member of st. Petri Lutheran Church, a dedicated Christian layman who witnessed to his Christian faith in home, church, and community. Died Feb. 26, 1925. m. Anna Folland, Mar. 1896.

Children: Agnes (m. Alphonse Johnson); Joseph; Magda (m. Rev. Agnar Tanner); Thelma (m. Arthur Chambers); Anders; Olaf; Alfred.
