Born Sept. 8, 1869, Askvold, Bergen, Norway, to Oskar (1834-1916) and Kristine (1840-1919) Svanøe. Immigrated in 1898. Married Emma Trondsen (d. 1903); Married Martha Simonson (d. 1957) Feb. 22, 1906, Drammen,Norway. Died Dec. 9, 1958, age 89. In 1909 he took a trip to Norway and served parishes there a while. In 1919, back to U.S.
with his five sons and one daughter.

Siblings: Solveig (1871-1918); Lina (1872-1956); Lovise ( 1874-1896); Torgeir (1875-77); Kristoffer (1877-1885).
