Born Nov. 21, 1878, Hagebostad, Norway. Immigrated in 1901. 
Married Sefrene (1878-1931) Olson, 1910. Ord., 1910. Served~ Trinity Luth., Rhinelander, Wis.; Tanum and Forest, Sawyer, Wis.; Immanuel, Milwaukee, Wis.
He took part in many Norwegian-American activities. On June 20, 1939,
with Crown Prince Olav and Princess Martha with him on the speaker's platform, at the Leif Ericson statue on the Milwaukee waterfront; he recounted the achievements of the great explorer Leif Ericson.

Children: Ardis; Hazel (m. Zoeller); Joseph H.; Dr. Reuben.

His children honor him as father, man of God, and patriot.
