Born Aug. 22, 1848, Vinger, 0stmarken,

Norway, where he grew up, was confirmed, and served as a shepherd boy. As a young adult he labored in the

lumber camps in nearby Sweden. Married Anne Thoreson, 1882, and

the same year they immigrated to Griggs County, N.D. There he farmed, and became a charter member of the

Ringsaker Lutheran Church, and donated the land for the church and the cemetary. Died July 26, 1922. Mrs. Overby died Aug. 2, 1934. They had six sons and three daughters.

Honored by the following surviving heirs: Mr. and Mrs. Casper Overby, Cooperstown, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Alph Overby, Finley, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Overby, Northfield, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. (Alma) Severin Sola, Cooperstown; Mr. and Mrs. (Mabel) Emil Carlson, Cooperst
