Born Feb. 22, 1876 Highlandville, near Decorah, Ia. to Nels and Kristi Grimson. Married Carl Nygaard, July 13,

1899, Washington prairie church, near Decorah. Six sisters and three

brothers. Died Sept. 27, 1947, Finley, N.D.

Eight children: Alvin (b. Jan. 29, 1900) farmer, Sharon, N.D.; Hjalmar (b. 1906) Enderlin, N.D. - State Representative, elected to be U.S. Congressman, 1960, died July 18, 1963, of a heart attack in

Wash.. D.C.; Nineva (b. 1901) Finley, N.D.; Harold (b. 1911) Sharon, N.D.;

Lenore (b. 1908; m. Kline) Janesville, Wis., Bernice (b. 1913; m. Hillestad) Finley, N.D.; Kermit (b. 1915) Finley, N.D.; Earl (b. 1919) H.S. teacher, Fargo, N.D.

Honored by her husband Carl Nygaard (d. Jan. 26, 1965).
