Born Aug. 8, 1870, Time, Jaederen,

Norway to Hans (1834-1925) and Ane

(1848-1938, Hoiland) Njaa. Immigrated in 1892. Married Inger J. Ueland, 1903. Attended Concordia College; Luther Seminary; ordained in 1899. Siblings: Ingeborg; Peder; Hans; Ingvald; Inger; Ingvald; Erling; Anna; Selma; Adolph; Samuel; Ingeborg Sigfrida.

"In the fall of 1903 they moved to Saskatchewan, Canada, where

he was commissioned to minister to Norwegian settlers. He established

congregations and preaching places, and as new pastors came to share

the work he moved to a new place.

In 1913 they were called to a rural parish, Northwood, N.D. He served until his retirement in 1939, meanwhile served as chaplain at the Old People's Home, and edited a Norwegian paper "Northwood Emmisaeren". He continued to edit, write, and preach well up into his 90s"
